Music Integration and Curriculum Programs & Residencies

  • Music Curriculum Director and author of Music First! A 15-week early education curriculum in literacy and music for preschool – 2nd grade. (SFUSD, San Brano USD, Jefferson School District, Head Start San Mateo)
  • (Professional Development Services) host/lead workshops through SF JAZZ, Music in Schools Today, San Francisco Unified School District, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Music Center, Burbank Unified School District, etc.
  • San Francisco Jazz Center “JIM” (Jazz in the Middle” 6th – 8th grade curriculum workbook and guide
  • Los Angeles Philharmonic 3rd grade percussion Curriculum (year round).
  • Los Angeles Philharmonic 6 week program, “Jazz and the Orchestra”
  • Building a Junk Orchestra at Edna Brewer Middle School – collaboration with science and music.
  • Recycled Rhythm™  How to make music out of every day objects.  Includes bucket drumming, percussion and drumming from the African Diaspora including New Orleans, Brazil, Cuba and West Africa.  Students learn to read and write rhythm notation and the history and social studies behind the music.  Recycled Rhythm™ conveys the inherent value, potential and importance of recycling while producing something, i.e. musical instruments, music and rhythmic sound from such unique sources.
